Mikiko Morey is a gouache artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. After earning a B.S. in Art and Design from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, her focus gradually shifted from graphic design to fine art. Mikiko’s work begins with quiet observations of everyday nature—flowers in her yard, trees along familiar streets, and the changing sky throughout the day. Over time, these moments have evolved into expressive imagined landscapes shaped by memory. Through light, color, and atmosphere, she seeks to evoke emotion and convey the gentle serenity and joy she experiences in nature. Besides her gouache studies, she likes to create illustrations featuring animals in nature.
